I think your father would do well to drop by our online community for log home builders. It’s sort of like a Facebook for log home builders.

I Have purchased a plot in Mayo and would love to build a Log cabin there. Please advise - Best supplier in Ireland especially one who knows all rules & Regs. appertaining to CE-Mark. Home Bond or whatever is required and if possible where I could visit to see some ready built Log Houses (anywhere in Ireland)

I’m thinking of building a wooden log house in Ireland. I don’t have a plot of land yet but would like somewhere within a shortish distance from either Cork or Shannon airport. Do you help find land suitable for log houses? What’s the score with getting planning permission for wooden houses? Are they insurable in Ireland? Do they need to pass Irish building regs? So many questions!

We are thinking about buying a site and have always wanted a log home, however we never really looked into it before. Is it any easier to obtain planning permission for log homes?

Hello, I want to build a log house 2-3 bedroom have my own site but where do i start have looked up a few sights do you know anything about importing the wood who would be able to erect it after that havent a clue ! Thank you

Ken Buggy there are people making log homes that are very simple with hardly any cockoo stuff and waterford is one of the better places for planning, i have just finished building several in the county. I dont supply log homes, i specialise in building them so if you have any questions and want impartial answers just ask.

all the brochures i have had appear to be for houses that would lovely on a mountain top in Switzerland yodel-ay hay-hay,does anyone make a nice simple house that doesnt look like a couple of blokes in funny hats and frocks are going to come out on the hour and tell you what time it is. as for planning permission,I cant get a straight answer,i gather it can depend on who you ask,mood,time of day,day of week etc etc …….I jest of course……………… cuckoo, cuckoo.

Hi I live in Dublin city and have a terraced house and would like to knocked down the existing extension and build a wooden one I came across this website and wondered if it would be possible to do a log house extension incororating a bathroom kitchen and perhaps a bedroom (or two!)
