Web 2.0 looking pretty juicy

Proper Pint

New fun and interesting Google maps mashup. The best pints in Ireland

The site basically allows you to view and rate pubs around Dublin using google maps as a way to find them.

More interesting than anything as it doesn’t have a big enough community yet to get some proper pub reviews. It has to be said very cleanly executed and definitely using a lot of up to date technologies including there own blog.

Good to see web2.0 is all about useful applications. :)

Seriously though, I am hoping to visit your fine city in a few months, so I may indeed use it…

Very good idea and once fully fleshed out it could be the definitive guide to pubbing in Dublin.

[...] Derek Organ reports on the launch of a very slick new site using Google Maps: ProperPint. Unlike a similar site, MapEire (previously reviewed), which is national in scope, ProperPint concentrates on Dublin. It not only maps the locations of the capital’s pubs and nightclubs and lists the prices they charge for alcoholic drinks, but allows users to search for and browse such watering holes. Each establishment can be reviewed and rated by users, who can also indicate when it is best visited and update its price information. [...]
